Bali Villa Tour
I gave a brief description of the villa we stayed in in my Highlights blog, and here I wanted to expand a bit about the Villa.
It was The Bali Dream Villa & Resort Echo Beach Canggu and we booked the One Bedroom Private Pool Villa- here is the site for the resort: https://www.thebalidreamvilla.com/the-bali-dream-villa-resort-canggu and currently the rate for this room is around $125 USD per night. They have different options as well without the private pool for around 619,450.00 IDR per night which converts to around $45 US.
Breakfast was included and you could either have it sent to your villa or you could eat in the dining area. I preferred eating in the villa as the views in the dining area were… okay. You could see the resort pool and not much else as this resort is not near the beach. Staying here, I mostly wanted to be in the privacy of our villa and we did not spend much time doing anything else on the resort property. They did offer room service, that we opted for a couple of times while we were there, but we did not care too much for the resort food. Especially since there were soo many delicious options around in Canggu! For the most part the villa was for swimming, sleeping, and showering and we spent the rest of the time out and about in Bali for food and entertainment.
The location, being that it was secluded and far out from the main areas of Canggu transportation was a bit of a struggle. We waited quite a while for taxis to come to us and some taxi drivers had no idea where our villa was. Neither did we! So some nights it took longer to get home than others. Every day we were taking taxis to the center of town and the traffic in Bali is a bit psycho! So yeah, next time, I would prefer to stay somewhere closer to the action.
They layout and feel of the villa was amazing, like our own slice of paradise. The landscaping and overall feel was so Bali! Turn down service was mostly lighting incense outside to keep the mosquitos away which helped immensely! There were a couple of lizards and I did see one funky bug while we were there, but that is to be expected when you are sharing outside space with nature!
We hope to get back to Bali as there were so many things to do and not enough time to do it all! When we go back, will we stay here again? I say no, mostly because there are so many great places to stay and check out and explore. I would prefer to stay closer to the action, and to the beach, within walking distance to shops and restaurants.
