Spokane Road Trip

Over Memorial Day weekend, I had 4 days off Friday - Monday.... Love it! My hubby went into work on Friday morning and was able to secure a few days to go explore! He sent me a text around 8:30 am and let me know to get packing, we are going to Spokane.

YAASSS! Spokane is about a 5 hour drive from where we are and I was so excited! I had never been before and couldn't wait to check it out!

I packed up some clothes, made some pb&js and got together some other snacks for the road.

After running some errands and cleaning up a bit, we were ready to go around noon. We got cozy with an audio book and we were off!

I am trying to improve my snapchat game, so I was using this trip to find some snappable moments! I felt I did a pretty great job of snapping, snap chatting.. whatever, but I missed some good ones! We saw a fleet of Corvettes in all colors looking awesome on the windy roads.... couldn't snap them in time.... then I missed the most snappable moment of all...... A BEAR CROSSED THE STREET. A BEAR.... it was a baby bear and I completely missed it! I saw it with my eyes... but not with the snap! DANGIT... My snapchat: natasha_luise

Okay the drive was fine, I booked the hotel on the way and we ended up staying at the Davenport Grand. It was super cute, and modern, and only 45 days old when we stayed there! Parking was in a garage and was super convenient. The location of the hotel was perfect! Walking distance to EVERYTHING cool around DT Spokane! The convention center, shopping, awesome restaurants and bars, and the beautiful Riverfront Park!

Places we visited:

  • Food and Drinks

    • Clinkerdagger - Steak and Seafood - Delicious lobster!!

    • Franks Diner - Train Car - so cute- long wait, but free coffee while you wait and awesome large portion breakfast! Worth the wait!

    • Sushi.com - took food to go from here yummy sushi and bento box!

    • Old European - Breakfast here was so good and.... MIMOSAS

    • Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar - watched the basketball game here and had tasty drinks and desserts!

    • The Observatory - Awesome drinks (they lit mine on fire) and cool local feel. The hubby made friends with the owner and got to taste some great whiskeys!

    • Table 13 - the restaurant that was inside our hotel had a whiskey bar - Speakeazy 13 - fairly new and they had nice selection of, you guessed it, whiskey! Even a few options for a whiskey flight!

  • Shopping

    • Aunties Bookstore - Could have spent all day here! Very chill, lots of books!

    • Nordstrom Rack :)

    • Total Wine - GIANT liquor store... lots of options

    • River Park Square- Movie theater, and shopping mall, restaurants and bars here too.

  • Exploring

    • Riverfront Park - Beautiful scenery here and lots of space to play and hang out! The weather was gorgeous and the park was not crowded at all. There were some cute areas to play, the giant Radio Flyer red wagon, as well as the people running (who weren't real people). There is a carrousel, a sky ride over the falls, IMAX theatre, and more! We had a great time, walking around and taking it all in!

We did some exploring, some shopping, some whiskey tasting, and had a fun time just hanging out with each other! Being in a new place with my love, is one of my favorite ways to de-stress!
