Things To Know About Bali

Bali

This trip was incredibly moving, the people were wonderful, the views were indescribable. The restaurants were so cute and the food was tasty! Brian describes this as his favorite trip that we have taken. There was the perfect blend of chill, and adventure! And even though we tried to avoid it, we did both end up with ‘Bali Belly’ by the end of the trip.

Here is the list of some of the places we visited while we were there:

Restaurants- Potato Head, Luigis Hot Pizza, Avocado Factory, Beachgarden- Organic Kitchen, Rise and Shine Cafe, The Loft, La Brisa,

Beaches- Echo Beach, Crystal Bay (Nusa Penida), Kuta Beach

Adventure-  Airbnb Experiences: Sekumpul waterfall hike, Nusa Penida, Gili T, Checking Bali Sea Turtle Society’s Facebook page to see if they are having a turtle release.

Relaxation- La Brisa, Villa life, The Lawn, Gili T

Party Time- Motel Mexicola, Mrs. Sippy, Backyards

Shopping- Love Anchor Canggu-Market (I suck at haggling BTW)

Things I wish I knew before Bali:

Traffic is madness! We thought that we would be able to walk around everywhere but that was not happening. There are motorbikes and cars everywhere and though the island is very small the traffic made it take forever to get anywhere. - RideShare apps are not popular.

Toilets- oh these. I have seen/used the squatter toilets before and those are a thing here at some of the more local places. There is also not toilet paper, but there is a spray hose next to the toity! …. Our villa and most of the trendy spots in town had full toilets and toilet paper, so that worked.

Avoid Bali Belly- peel it, boil it, or cook it  - DO NOT DRINK THE WATER - There’s your PSA.

In Bali we had an amazing time! It took a full 24 hours for us to actually get there and it was totally worth it! We will cherish the views and the experiences forever, and we definitely want to go back!
